Power generation control of restructured hybrid power system with FACTS and energy storage devices using optimal cascaded fractional?order controller

This work presents power generation control of a two-area hybrid restructured system, initially integrated with renewable energy source (RES) and electric vehicle (EV). For further analysis, additional inclusion FACTS storage devices in the system is to be analyzed for improved dynamics. The complex nonlinear that brings light major problem dynamic due insufficient damping under varying loading circumstances. To solve this problem, robust approach rapid acting controllable are an immediate need advanced system. Motivated from fact cascaded fractional order controllers exhibit better performance comparison classical controllers, article proposes fractional-order ID-fractional-order PD (cascaded FOID-FOPD) controller enhancement maiden application satin bower bird optimizer technique optimize secondary gains employed. proposed controller's superiority demonstrated by comparing results other existing controllers. impact RES's EVs on dynamics FOID-FOPD also explored. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis done reflect optimized supportive enough variations RESs, load perturbations, capacity ratio, disco participation matrix.
